Netcom Deploys MediaRing VoizBridge Session Controllers Throughout Asia
Pacific VoIP Network
Sunnyvale, CA—March 8, 2005—MediaRing™
(MRNG.SI) (www.mediaring.com), a global provider of telephony solution
and services, today announced that Asia Netcom (www.asianetcom.com),
a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Netcom, has deployed MediaRing VoizBridge
session controllers throughout its extensive VoIP network.
“Asia Netcom is a premiere VoIP network provider across Asia.
From China to Australia and beyond, Asia Netcom provides the highest
quality of voice and data over a privately owned MPLS based IP backbone.
We are pleased that Asia Netcom has chosen MediaRing VoizBridge as a
premiere partner in providing the highest quality, most cost-effective
services available,” said Khaw Kheng Joo, chief executive officer
of MediaRing
“MediaRing has proven to be an invaluable partner throughout the
deployment of our VoIP service platform. MediaRing VoizBridge provides
the most flexible solution with regards to deployment and scalability,
and has enabled interoperability in a seamless and efficient manner,
allowing us to deploy the networks faster and with optimum performance”
said Bill Barney, Asia Netcom’s president and chief operating
officer.
Last year, Asia Netcom announced the build-out of their VoIP service
platform over its pan-Asia based privately-owned MPLS network. The MediaRing
VoizBridge session controller solution provides Asia Netcom with necessary
high-performance session controller functions such as network address
translation (NAT) enabling seamless traffic exchange between private
and public IP domains, topology hiding, and protocol inter-working.
The unique distributed signaling and media component architecture of
MediaRing VoizBridge enables Asia Netcom to have a centralized signal
inter-working cluster whereas the media inter-working components are
installed at their respective regional hubs. Such a distributed topology
provides significant network design flexibility, optimal network utilization,
reduced media backhaul charges and helps maintain lower end-to-end latency.

Leading
Session Controller Vendor Joins Excel’s I3P Partner Program, Proves
Interoperability of MediaRing VoizBridge and Excel Gateway
SPRING VON 2004
– Santa Clara, Calif. – March 29, 2004 – At Spring
VON 2004, Excel Switching Corp. (www.xl.com) announced successful interoperability
lab tests that have resulted in a partnership with MediaRing ™,
Ltd. (MRNG.SI) (www.mediaring.com), a global provider of packet telephony
services and solutions. As a result, MediaRing joins Excel’s IP
Interoperability and Innovations Program (I3P) where the MediaRing VoizBridge
session controller, enabling peering and secured interconnectivity between
multiple VoIP networks, can be effectively deployed alongside Excel’s
carrier-class, open service platforms, media gateways and media servers.
In the partnership,
Excel will provide the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) to IP
gateway functionality for MediaRing’s session border controller
to offer a powerful, unified solution for carriers to rapidly expand
their offerings of IP services such as VoIP wholesale (prepaid and postpaid),
VoIP calling cards, enterprise VoIP and IP conferencing and fax. Both
solutions seamlessly interoperate between H.323 and SIP, thereby protecting
a carrier’s investment in legacy equipment while allowing the
carrier to expand into the burgeoning VoIP market.
“Excel is
at the forefront of VoIP migration by providing carrier-class solutions
that not only support multiple protocols, but also interoperate with
a variety of networks, effectively scale and offer great flexibility,”
said Khaw Kheng Joo, chief executive officer of MediaRing. “Together,
Excel and MediaRing allow carriers to securely and cost effectively
roll out a broad spectrum of IP services enabling them to add additional
revenue.”

Excel Poised for
VoIP Success
According to Juniper Research, the VoIP market will be the significant
revenue generator for broadband service providers by 2009, contributing
to an overall value-added services market of $47 billion. This is in
addition to the $43 billion that's expected to be spent on broadband
access in five years. In a March 2004 report, Juniper indicates that
the biggest opportunity for service providers is in voice services as
VoIP continues to replace traditional circuit-switched voice.
MediaRing’s
partnership with Excel demonstrates how service providers can interconnect
their networks to quickly gain VoIP market traction, whether their networks
are a traditional PSTN or an emerging next generation network powered
by SIP and H.323 technologies.
“Excel’s
approach to VoIP allows carriers to cost-effectively move forward with
IP initiatives at a pace that makes sense for them,” said J.C.
Murphy, president of Excel. “We believe MediaRing will be an integral
part of our success with fast growing VoIP networks.”

MediaRing
To Power NTT Communications VoIP Clearinghouse
Telecom giant’s
new clearinghouse service features higher standards of interoperability
and security with MediaRing VoizBridge technology
11 October 2002,
Singapore – MediaRing has partnered with NEC Corporation of Japan
to provide secure VoIP interconnect and interoperability functionality
to NTT Worldwide Telecommunications Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary
of NTT Communications Corporation (hereafter called “NTT”).
Based on MediaRing
VoizBridge technology, the new clearinghouse service by NTT will feature
multi-protocol and multi-vendor compatibility for telecommunication
carriers and Internet Telephony Service Providers (ITSPs).
“The explosive
growth of the VoIP market and its rapid adoption by carriers worldwide
has created interoperability challenges amongst carriers and service
providers in the exchange of global voice traffic,” said Mr. Tetsuro
Mikami, Vice President of IP Business Development at NTT Communications
in Japan. “The array of differing communication protocols, and
the inability of different vendor equipment to interconnect has resulted
in inefficiencies in service provision and cost competitiveness.”
Mr. Hironobu Sakata
of NEC Corporation said, “NEC is pleased to welcome MediaRing
as a partner, and looks forward to supporting NTT’s advanced solutions.
VoizBridge lends to NTT’s new clearinghouse service the capability
of interconnecting with any number of carrier partners. This translates
to higher quality of service, a better variety of value-added services,
and cost advantages to any party along the value chain.”
MediaRing VoizBridge
is a solutions platform that provides carriers with the highest levels
of flexibility, performance and security for interconnecting with multiple
partners regardless of the type of vendor equipment or communications
protocol. VoizBridge replaces the need for expensive back-to-back gateway
investments, allows carriers to achieve faster provisioning times and
eliminates costly delays in rate negotiations.
“MediaRing
is pleased to work closely with NTT and NEC,” said Mr. Koh Boon
Hwee, Executive Director of MediaRing. “NTT is a powerful force
in the global VoIP communications arena, and its multi-protocol and
vendor clearinghouse service will be a prime driver in the growth of
high quality VoIP services with more enhanced features in competitive
telecommunications environment.”
“This contract
win is a firm endorsement of our VoizBridge technology by two of the
world’s leading players in the telecommunications and IT arenas
respectively,” he added.
Launched on 10 October
2002, NEC Corporation will provide systems integration and support services
to NTT’s new clearinghouse. TransNexus Inc. will provide OSP solutions
that feature cross-platform accounting and authorizing for VoIP services.
